Do you know the basics of how to open and do minor editing to your photographs?  Are you looking to improve upon your basic photoshop skills?

This class is designed for anyone who has attended a Photos On The Vine 3 hour PhotoShop Class and is ready to learn more.

Hi!  I have loved getting to know everyone from the 3 hour basic photoshop classes I have taught over the past 2 years. We have often talked about the next class, and I have even tried to set up schedules to meet with the same students for a Part II class, picking up where we’ve left off. It has been difficult to reserve Saturday mornings for teaching and so for most of you, we have not met again since the first PhotoShop class.

So, I am offering this special opportunity for a 4 week PhotoShop class for those attendees who have attended a 3 hour Basic PhotoShop class, and who would like to get a more in depth continuing education opportunity for more PhotoShop.

We will not be working in Lightroom. This will be 100% PhotoShop.

I will expect that students already have an understanding of setting up the photoshop, and how to open, make basic adjustments (to get your photos color balanced and sharp) and how to save files. We will be be briefly covering some things we touched on in our first class such as:

  • Basic Editing Such as Retouching Wrinkles and Smoothing Out Skin
  • How to remove unwanted objects from a photo. How to swap faces between photographs.

However, the techniques for those 2 items above will quickly move on to an advanced level.

An important part of photoshop is understanding how Layers work.

  • Creating Layers for Retouching
  • Creating Layers to Design Cards and other photo layouts
  • The class will focus on learning these additional objectives:
    • Color and Tonal Corrections
    • Dodging and Burning
    • Eye Enhancement (getting the whites in your eyes, white!)
    • The Filter Gallery
    • Noise Reduction
    • Red Eye Rem oval
    • Quick Select Tool
    • Painting in PhotoShop. Learning about brushes, and making your own brushes.  I will even be giving everyone my custom designed brush that I use for all my retouching.
    • Actions- How to record your favorite steps and apply then often.

My goal is to have one Live Photo shoot  where each attendee will be able to create a custom painting in PhotoShop.

There’s much more to learn and more ways to play with your photographs. So I hope you all will join this next session. Remember to keep practicing the skills you have already learned, and if you have any questions, let me know!

What to bring:

  • Your laptop loaded with Photoshop.
  • Patrice will provide the images for all students to work on together> Towaards the end of the 4 week class schedule, there will be opportunities to bring in your own images to work on and get specific guidance on questions.

This will be a hands on class and we will be working individually and together to learn how to take the images from a RAW state and the workflow designed to edit, and prepare the file to ultimately present to a client, or print.

Class size is limited to the first 10 registers.  If you have questions if this class is right for you, please email me and we can discuss.

This class has the option to be a BYOB event.  At Photos On The Vine, we allow attendees to have the option to bring their own bottle of wine and appetizers to enjoy during classes.  Our classes are designed to be a Perfect Blend of Creativity, Conversation and Learning. I will allow you to decide if this is an option you would like to include in our 4 week course.

Photos On The Vine is a local photography studio which also holds various types of photography classes from beginner classes to studio lighting.
