4 week Basic PhotoShop Course
February 10- March 3 Thursday nights 6:30pm-8:30pm
In this 4 week Basic PhotoShop Class, we will begin by learning the basics of LightRoom Classic. Lightroom is a program that will be included with your subscription purchase of PhotoShop through Adobe Creative Cloud. I highly encourage students to download both of these programs with their $10/month subscription. Lightroom Classic is a very powerful program to help you learn proper workflow from camera to jpeg. We will use LightRoom to adjust our images for exposure in photos, create black and whites, sepia, and other easy effects for our photographs. Lightroom will only be covered the first night. This is not a Lightroom Course, but having a brief introduction is helpful before using PhotoShop.
Then, we will quickly move on to PhotoShop to cover the basics of sharpening, cropping for printing, advanced color/ image adjustments, basic retouching, and using layers to create photo collective designs. This 4 week course will get you up and using Lightroom and PhotoShop to easily edit your photographs and get them ready for printing.
- Importing Your Files from a Card Reader
- Creating Unique Folders and Saving on an External Hard Drive
- Importing images into Lightroom
- Basic Adjustments such as Exposure, Cropping, Vignetting in Lightroom
- Exporting to Photoshop and saving images as a .jpeg
- Learning Photoshop workspace and toolbars
- Cropping for Printing, Advanced Exposure Adjustments, Sharpening
- Basic Editing Such as Retouching Wrinkles and Smoothing Out Skin
- Removing or Adding Items to your Photographs
- Getting Started with Layers to do more with your images.
What You Will Need:
- Your computer loaded with Lightroom and Photoshop. If you are paying the monthly subscription fee for Photoshop *$10 a month, then Lightroom is included in that bundle.
This will be a hands on class and we will be working individually and together to learn how to take the images from a RAW state and the workflow designed to edit, and prepare the file to ultimately present to a client, or print.
**. If you already have PhotoShop skills but are looking to gain knowledge in certain areas of PhotoShop, please consider a private one on one class. This class is designed for the beginner, and we will be going at a beginners pace.
Audience
This is a basic photo editing class designed for the photographer who would like to learn how to manage and edit their photographs.
Class size is limited to six attendees, but does need to meet a certain number of registrations in order for the class to “make”.
Photos On The Vine is a local photography studio which also holds various types of photography classes from beginner classes to studio lighting.
